Neon Boneyard

If for any reason you find yourself in Vegas (God help you), this is the only place that might actually hold your attention and have something informative and interesting from which you can take. It is at the Reed Whipple Cultural center on LV boulevard N. It costs $15 for the guided tour and access to the boneyard. Its part of the NEON MUSEUM. (Sadly, boneyard closed after I luckily got in at the very last tour, but will reopen in a year or so.)
The boneyard houses all the old neon signs torn down from past casinos. Its pretty fucking cool. I took a ton of pictures and it was one of the many times recently when I really really wished I had a better camera and the knowledge to use one - though I think I did ok considering - (thinking of getting a cheaper Nikon D 40 and a few lenses...you know...when a bag of money falls from the sky)...

Incidentally I stumbled into an AMAZING exhibition at Reed Whipple: It was called ALTERED STATES: Artists re-imagine the book, curated by Joseph Shuldiner. There were some really amazing pieces but unfortunately I couldn't take any fucking photos in the gallery. Doug Buebe had a Joseph Cornell style with his work, Ellie Brown was awesome, Emily Sandor was cool. But who really stood out was alexander korzer robinson. Check him out. Very very rad cutout book dioramas. Wish I woulda thought of that.
